Release: Donnelly Has Raised More Than Any Lugar Challenger Ever

Indianapolis, IN – Joe Donnelly has raised $1,181,322.83 year to date and maintains a balance of $874,087.94 cash on hand for his challenge to Senator Richard Lugar, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission and posted on his campaign website today.

Even with a potential general election matchup over a year away, Donnelly has raised more for his campaign than any challenger to Senator Richard Lugar has in his entire 35-year Senate career.

Donnelly displayed the same sense of fiscal discipline with his campaign dollars that he hopes to take to the Senate.  In the third quarter, Donnelly raised $355,202.67 and spent $166,952.79.

"Joe’s supporters are responding to his record as a proven creator of jobs,” said Donnelly campaign manager Paul Tencher. “Because of their support we’re going to be able to run the jobs-focused campaign hard-working Hoosiers deserve.”

Senate candidates are required to file a paper copy of their finance reports, which can create a delay in between filing and public release of the documents by the FEC.  To address this, Donnelly has directed his campaign to make copies of the documents available online.
